A head-on collision between two compositions of the metro Cagliari, Sardinia, made on Tuesday morning more than 80 injured, three in serious condition. The two circled trains on the same line in opposite directions for still unknown reasons, but human error suspicions.

Of the 85 wounded registered in several area hospitals, 11 were discharged immediately. The driver of a passing train and a student of 16 years, are the most serious injuries. One of the drivers, Mauro Angioni, had surgery on chest and has poor prognosis. The woman has a fracture in the ribs and another driver, Fabrizio Pilia, suffered fractures of the femur and pelvis.

The collision occurred by 8:20 a.m. the morning (an hour in Lisbon) and most of the passengers were students walking to school.
